Disability Royal Commission Resources

Here are some useful resources about the Disability Royal Commission. Please find information below on the Department of Social Services (DSS) support services funded for the Disability Royal Commission (DRC). The Department is funding free, independent counselling and advocacy support services for:

  • People with disability who have experienced violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation.
  • Anyone who is engaging with or affected by the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability (‘the Disability Royal Commission’).

Across Western Australia, Yorgum Healing Services Aboriginal Corporation is funded to provide a range of independent, culturally appropriate counselling services to help those who may have complex needs and require more in-depth support, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with disability and their families. The Department has also funded Kimberley Stolen Generation Aboriginal Corporation – Broome to service the Kimberley for the DRC Targeted Counselling service.

Relationships Australia WA has been funded to deliver front line in-depth services including in-person, medium-term, trauma-informed counselling to help those who may have complex needs. A brochure for their service is attached.

DSS has more information on the DRC Counselling and Advocacy supports on the DSS website. Please find resources below and also on the ECSN Information Hub.
